Peer Recovery Workforce Supervision

Recovery continues to be a radical concept within the world of addiction and behavioral health services. SAMHSA has identified the new standard for the addictions/behavioral health workforce to be 25% peer. Therefore, as peer programs are being developed, the integrity of the peer recovery model is crucial to the efficacy and impact of the peer recovery support services provided.

Whether you’re a seasoned peer professional who is about to become a supervisor, or an individual such as a clinician, nurse, or a director in a non-peer role, this training will prepare you for the Peer Supervisory Role.

Our comprehensive training takes place over a month’s span involving four training days and a supervised practicum.

Day one focuses on the foundations of the roles and how it’s built on, Promoting Recovery.

Day two looks at how the recovery model is infused into the diverse landscape of environments supporting people’s recovery and wellness.

Day three reviews the role competencies and moves through supervisory processes.

During the month-long practicum, participants will begin to explore and apply their learning to their current work environment and develop a plan of action regarding their findings. Mid-month, participants will have a supervisory session with a peer supervisor in order to support them with their plan while modeling a peer supervisory session for them.

A month later, on day four of training, the group comes back together to discuss their findings and refine implementation with the facilitators.

The Peer Recovery Workforce Training provides 18 CE”s nationally via NAADAC, along with MBSACC and is recognized for Peer and Recovery Coach Supervision in MA, CT, VT and CO. Please inquire regarding your state if its not listed.
