CRC has been supporting the development of the Addictions and Mental Health Recovery Workforce by providing opportunities to individuals in recovery seeking to “give back“ to their communities and enter the workforce via our volunteer training program.
Individuals required to acquire recovery supports by DCF or the criminal justice systems, individuals being prematurely discharged from programs, Individuals who do not have access to recovery supports nor the financial means, individuals experiencing stigma and systemic failure looking to re-integrate into new environments and/or their communities have been and are able to benefit from this service at NO COST.
Your donation will be directly applied to the support of our Volunteer Program so that individuals in recovery who don’t have the financial means and are not connected with any behavioral health systems can be provided with a barrier free opportunity to begin a career in this field, where they never might have thought possible before. Individuals receive 60 hours of required training towards certification along with peer recovery coach supervision while providing recovery supports at NO COST for six months to individuals falling through the cracks in the traditional medical and behavioral health systems.
Peer Recovery Coach Support is an evidence based practice supporting increased empowerment and hope, improved access to social supports, increased community engagement, increased quality of life while decreasing hospitalization, reduced relapse rates, decreased criminal justice involvement and reduced substance use.
