Hello Everyone!
Hope 2022 is treating you fairly.
It’s been quite the whirlwind for us, as we have the privilege of working with Great Plains Native Americans in creating Policies for the implementation of their New Peer Programs, as well as the Working with Community Leaders in Springfield to Foster Cultural Humility within programs working with BIPOC populations in Western MA.
Additionally, the Pilot for “Beyond the Call: Wellness Recovery Approaches for First Responders” was just successfully completed last week, as we had an international audience seeking to introduce the peer model to communities and systems alike! Very exciting and, yes, quite the privilege.
Fifteen years ago, this was not my story. Indeed, we are privileged to not only be accepted into, but also invited to participate in, these diverse cultures. Whether we have cultural similarities or not, we have learned that it’s not the knowing (at best, I am culturally incompetent), but awareness that we do NOT know that will support my fostering connection with another.
What do you feel is helpful for you to connect with another?
We shared a few videos below that can shed a little light on becoming a more united community so that Recovery can blossom all around.
What are you discovering about yourself this month?
Meanwhile, we have trainings taking place this month and next that can definitely support you in connecting with others. There’s something for Everyone!
